Lynn Lee, Budget and Human Resources Officer for MSU Finance, is the winner of April’s Spirit of APSA Award. Nominated by their fellow APSA supervisors and selected by the APSA Member Outreach Committee, these awardees embody the core values of the APSA: outstanding professionalism, community spirit and solidarity.
Lynn works for the Office of the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, where her work extends across all areas of MSU Finance, including Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts and Grants, Financial Planning and Budget, Treasury and Financial Management and the Office of the Controller. She’s served the office since September of 2022, and has been with MSU in various roles since 2000. She leads a team of two AP employees in the Budget and HR unit, and together, they support the financial, facilities and HR needs of approximately 160 MSU Finance employees.
Lynn’s multiple nominators describe her as a well-known knowledge resource and respected informal mentor to a network of colleagues across campus. She’s a go-to for questions on new university processes and systems, and she inspires other Spartans to excel in their roles.
Her nominators’ comments reflect the aspects of Lynn’s current supervisory role that she enjoys most: supporting both her own employees and others whom she can help maneuver through complicated MSU processes. She likes working with others to solve problems both big or small, and working together towards a shared goal – characteristics that exemplify the Spirit of APSA.
Lynn, the APSA Executive Board and Membership Committee thank you for your many contributions, and extend their congratulations for this well-deserved award. If you know another exceptional APSA member, you can nominate them for award consideration using this form.
