Kevin Holtz in MSU IT – Digital Classroom Services is our inaugural Spirit of APSA Award winner, the first of twelve winners in 2025. Nominated by their fellow APSA supervisors, these awardees embody the core values of our union: excellence, community spirit and solidarity.
Among an impressive class of nominees, Kevin stood out for the many ways in which he supports his colleagues and fosters an environment of trust, equity and collaboration among his team members.
Kevin has been with his unit in MSU-IT for twenty years and supervises a team of seven direct reports and ten student support staff, as well as assisting with leading the unit’s four-member afternoon support team.
His work responsibilities range from ensuring that instructors are supported in their in-person, remote and hybrid teaching to collaborating with cross-campus IT professionals to advocating for those who report to him. His favorite aspect of his role as a supervisor is working alongside his team members, who inspire him with their passion for supporting MSU and each other. The APSA Executive Board and Member Outreach Committee extend their congratulations to Kevin and thank him for his contributions to our community.
